Creativity in the Curriculum

Creativity in the Curriculum’ is a one-day national conference held in London on 26 May 2011 brought to you by Optimus Education, Teaching Expertise and Curriculum Management.

Creativity in the curriculum conference will gain practical strategies and ideas that will help design a toolkit for crea
tive learning in schools. They will hear practical ideas for lesson planning, themed weeks, assemblies and collapsed timetabling techniques that provide coherent learning experie
nces and creative opportunities for students.

As 'Creativity' has grown into a major 'needing factor' to get by in today's competitive economy, I feel that looking too in depth into the idea of creativity is destroying it's natural ability and freedom that is gifted to those who use it well. This idea of 'teaching creativity' has been firmly anchored, I believe that creativity cannot be taught, otherwise it ruins it's power of freedom, which we all desire as a positive aspect to define us as individuals.
